西表島の月夜に乱舞する蛍。月桃（げっとう）の白い花。
それは、幻想的な5月の夜のことでした。
蛍の光は天空へと揺らめき、星と区別がつかなくなり、やがて一条の流れ星となって
地の果てへ消えていきました。「月桃月夜」は友禅アート。絹に「手描き友禅」で描かれたものを、
「ジクリー（版画の技法）」で紙に表現しています。
友禅の持つ、ぼかしと布目の独特な雰囲気をあますことなく再現。
長い年月にもほどんど退色しないといわれています。
展示・保存の際は、直射日光と湿気を避けることをお勧めします。
