暖かい南の島。豊かな自然に
囲まれた海を望む斜面。
そこに赤瓦のヴィラがいくつか
並ぶ宿があります。
正面に1本の木が、大きな枝ぶりを
広げています。さがり花の木です。
夜のとばりが降りる頃、
小さな蕾たちはその花弁を
そっと開きはじめます。
真夜中になる頃、誇らしげに
大きな花となって暗闇に姿を
あらわします。
夜の底が白み始めるにつれて花は
わずかなふるえを見せ、やがて
太陽の明かりがあたりを照らし
始める時、さがり花たちは満身に
光を受けて、開花したその大きな花
のまま地上へと落下します。
その瞬間、ポッと音が聴こえると
言います。魅力溢れる、
神秘的なさがり花。
花言葉は「幸運が訪れる」。

In front, a Barringtonia tree spreads a large branch.
When the evening falls, tiny flower buds start blooming.
At night, large flowers display themselves in the darkness.
As the sun comes up, the flowers get exposed to the rays of the sun,
and the large blossoms drop, simply as they are.
That moment, it is said that one can hear the sound of the falling flowers. ‘Poh.’
The mysterious Barringtonia flowers, blooming only for one single night.

「ジクリー（版画の技法）」で紙に表現しています。
友禅の持つ、ぼかしと布目の独特な雰囲気をあますことなく再現。
長い年月にもほどんど退色しないといわれています。
展示・保存の際は、直射日光と湿気を避けることをお勧めします。
